Looptopia Sponsorship
On May 2nd 2008 Chicago will be having its annual art event, looptopia. My company Binary Artists has participated in this event in the past. My organization was asked to develop a live video feed from Hong Kong and the Chicago Loop then merge the images together onto a single canvas. My group was also responsible for all the post-production work done on the Millennium Park Crown Fountain.
This year my team is developing an audience-controlled project called, Visible Gestures. Visible Gestures is an interactive, environment designed to demonstrate the ever-changing landscape of the city. Each day new buildings are being constructed and old buildings are being demolished. These constant modifications affect the appearance of the city’s landscape. Our project will enable the participant to travel within a virtual reconstruction of Chicago. Modified Wii controllers will be the devices that will allow users to travel and select buildings that they would like to recreate.
The entire looptopia event is based on generous donations form local Chicago businesses that support this yearly event. However, there are very little funds that can support projects that consist of the technology that it will require to create what we envision.
Our team would greatly appreciate any donation. In exchange for a donation we will place your company logo or company’s name on a building that will be visible in the project. Last year the number of attendants exceeded 100,000. This year they are expecting more people and we would like for your company or organization to be seen by the crowd.
